Dr. Aashna Sharma

  • Fulbright–Kalam Climate Postdoctoral Scholar & Humboldt Postdoc Fellowship Awardee
  • Freshwater Ecologist | Conservation Scientist

Welcome to my website!

If you are here, we likely share a common goal to conserve our planet for posterity. Coming from India, a land where nature is revered as equal to humans, my scientific lens views wildlife not just as data points but as beings we ought to celebrate together.

I take a biological approach to understand the species responses to climate and land-use stressors, through field experiments, life history investigations, and long-term ecological monitoring. Besides my zeal for fieldwork to address immediate conservation issues (which remains my greatest source of energy), I seek broad scale answers through ecological niche models, big data synthesis, automation, and exploration of the potential of artificial intelligence in applied ecology.

Stream Ecology, Himalayan River Systems, Climate Change, Invasive Species Research, Big Data Synthesis, Ecological Niche Models, Artificial Intelligence in Applied Ecology
